B2B API integration
Automated system-to-system exchange of service requests and completed calls.
Case Study ยท Enterprise Field Service
Develocity developed an operational platform connecting a field service organization with one of Canada's major banks to coordinate support for point-of-sale equipment in merchant locations.
The workflow
When a merchant experienced an issue with a bank-supplied POS terminal, the merchant contacted the bank. The bank generated a support request that was transmitted securely to the field service system.
Dispatchers assigned the resulting work to a technician. The technician attended the merchant location, diagnosed the problem and performed the required equipment removal, installation or replacement. Inventory was managed in the same operational system.
Once the work order was complete, the dispatcher transmitted the completed service call back to the bank.
End-to-end service lifecycle
The merchant contacts the bank's support organization.
The request is transmitted into the field service platform.
A work order is coordinated and assigned to a technician.
The technician diagnoses the issue and performs required equipment work.
Removed and installed equipment is tracked through the system.
The completed service call is securely transmitted back to the originating organization.
Enterprise integration
Communication between the organizations was handled through APIs over secure private VPN connectivity. The integration moved service requests into the operational platform and returned completed service information to the bank without relying on manual re-entry between systems.
This system expanded the accelerator's experience with external integrations, workflow orchestration, inventory, field operations and end-to-end operational traceability.
Capabilities demonstrated
Automated system-to-system exchange of service requests and completed calls.
API communication operating across private VPN infrastructure.
Operational coordination from incoming request through technician assignment and completion.
Software supporting diagnosis and equipment changes at merchant locations.
Tracking the equipment and inventory involved in service delivery.
A connected history from originating bank request through completed service call.
Current generation
The business domain changed again. The accumulated architecture and production experience did not.
